Yaotl and some fanart
Sunday, November 1st, 2009This is not a really new drawing, I was just waiting to share when I finished it.
The drawing and inking were actually done traditionally! Wow! I was randomnly doodling in my sketchbook and liked this one. So I inked quickly, later scanned at 600dpi (my poor scanner is about to expire
) and decided to screentone in Photoshop. Gotta say, it looks very nice. (more…)

Thursday, February 19th, 2009Digital screentones (video tutorials?)
Thursday, June 26th, 2008Not exactly tutorials again, but these two have text explaining how I did it.
The first one is how I apply screentones using Celsys Powertone3 plugin for Adobe Photoshop. It’s an exciting plugin with tons of screentones and the possibility of creating your own! Bad news is that you must purchase a license and it comes in Japanese.
The second video is also about digital screentoning, but in this one I show how to convert gray tones to halftones with one simple plugin I found, which is free by the way and everyone can download it and use it. Click on the video to read a very long explanation I wrote for it on youtube.
I must accept doing these videos is a lot of fun! Right now I can’t think of something else to record myself doing, but you can expect me doing more videos in the future
